A unique female, found on a flowering thorny shrub.
The similar coloration and similar distribution of the hairs with the most species of the genus Ceratistes is remarkable (pronotum with yellow color at the posterior corners / absence of long, upright hairs on the pronotum).
These similarities may indicate (probably) a very-very close relationship between the genera Cordylepherus and Ceratistes.
Length 4.1 mm.

The genera created in the split of Malachius performed by Evers are desperately in need of a molecular analysis...

I hope also for a molecular analysis, this will happen in the future and it will be really very interesting. As long as, it will be a work of good quality.
Until then, however, we rely on morphology and make various hypotheses about the phylogeny, sometimes more close and sometimes less close to the reality.
