Hi, I found this Tenebroides under the bark of a dead Quercus. Any idea about the species? Lenght 7 mm.

Tenebroides fuscus. Generally, wild populations belong to T. fuscus and populations from food warehouses belong to T. mauritanicus but this division is sometimes problematic. Both morphological and genetic differences between wild and warehouses are not 100% clear and some researchers treat both species only as ecological forms.

Many thanks for your help ! :birra: ....here you have a picture with the elytral striae, which looks like in T. mauritanicus to me. Also the specimen was found in the botanical garden, so in an anthropized habitat...what do you think about, the ID remains T. fuscum anyway :roll: :roll:
