This little one is from Laos, and I can't even found the family name of it. Can anybody help me?

Ha l'aria di essere molto piccolo. Troppo credo per un Ceratocanthidae (a mio modesto parere ovviamente). Certo che antenne e dimensioni aiuterebbero.  Singolare comunque e se fosse un Nitidulidae o qualcosa tipo?? |

Dear Colleagues, Thank you for your answers. Well I think is is definatelly not Ceratocanthidae. Nitidulidae was my first idea.. Here is another picture about the short antennas, which end in a big plate-segment. These are so short, so it can not be shown from dorsal view, only ventral. The size of the beetle is 2-3 mm. Tamás

Audisio (specialista di Nitidulidae, e in generale esperto di Coleotteri) dice: "senza i dettagli ventrali e dei tarsi è difficile dire qualcosa, comunque ad occhio e croce potrebbe essere un Endomychidae o uno Sphindidae." Esclude i Nitidulidae per la morfologia della clava antennale. |

Ciao a tutti mi ha chiamato in ballo Roberto P. e allora eccomi con piacere qua. Vi posso assicurare che non è un Byrrhidae. A prima vista mi sembrava un Nosodendridae per la disposizione a fasce dei peli dorsali ma le antenne solo con l'ultimo articolo ingrossato mi farebbero escludere tale famiglia, a meno di qualche genere orientale particolare. I believe it's of the genus Cycloxenus (Cerylonidae: Euxestinae)

Hi Everyone, Thank you for all of the answers and opinions. Well, I think it is not Byrrhidae or Sphindidae. I think Aleksei Kovalev is maybe right: I checked our oriental collection of Cerylonidae/Euxestinae/. There are small brown ones like Globoeuxestus and Euxestus with simular legs and antennaes, but they are totally bald (no hairs on the elytra). But anyway, this is the most likely family of our small friend. Thanky you for all your trouble Tamás |
