Hi, This two Anthaxia (2 specimens) where found together with Anthaxia quadripunctata in 8.july.2010 in Babes Mountains (45.462910N/25.929230E), leg. Cosmin O. Manci in a fir forest (mixed with beech) on some yellow flowers of Asteraceae. Is possible to put an ID? Thanks in advance, cosmln |

Hi Cosmin, I need a close-up of head and pronotum, then it will be easier to compare with my material.

in this morning received from my friend Adi Ruicanescu his key for Anthaxia [Ruicănescu, A. 1997. Cheia ilustrată de determinare a speciilor genului Anthaxia ESCHSCHOLTZ, 1829 din fauna României (Coleoptera: Buprestoidea). Bul.inf. Soc.lepid.rom., 8(1-2): 117-130 - in romanian] and now following the key I will say too Anthaxia (Melanthaxia) nigrojubata Roubal, 1913. no "pits" on pronotum, long greysh-blachish pubescence, depressed frons between eyes and greenish-bluish color on ventral side. here is also a crop of head and pronotum, not really much information added, my macro setup is at limit. Thanks for your help, cosmln

If the ventral side is greenish in the male and blueish in the female, it is likely to be Anthaxia (Melanthaxia) nigrojubata ssp. incognita Bílý, 1974.
