another Anthaxia... This is was something new for me, I don't think that is present in Romania. Collected in 24.may.2010 in Peloponnese (37.854341/22.459604), size is ~4-5 mm. Is possible to say something more from photo? the black spot from pronotum looks almost like two bands from a lateral posterior view. Grazie, cosmln

Anthaxia (Anthaxia) discicollis discicollis Gory & Laporte, 1839
Usually this species is not so light green, but darker green, blueish green or blue, especially on elytra. However, there are also specimens so green.
This species is actually unknown for Romania.

I don't think genitalia are necessary for this species. The colour could be also an effect of the photo, where I see a lot of light! Eventually, Mr. Anthaxia will ask for more information, if he thinks it's better to have.

It is only a record of A. discicollis in Romania. It was collected at B. Herculane, Pecinisca, 15.05.1970, by Widenfalk (Germany). I have this information from Mr. Hans Muhle (Germany). I don't know how many specimens were collected. But H. Muhle is one of the very good specialists and I have no doubts in his identification. I've never seen one and I don't know about other records.

I didn't know this record, but the identification by hans Muehle can be considered without doubt. Probably this record was unknown also to Svatopluk Bily when he wrote the distribution of Anthaxia genus in the Cat. of Pal. Buprestidae.
