is this Anthaxia (Anthaxia) myrmidon Abeille de Perrin, 1891?
collected several specimens in north Greece (41.117386/24.743417) in 20.may.2010.

Hello cosmln, In my opinion Anthaxia myrmidon is not distributed in greece. Your specimen looks more like Anthaxia podolica, but it also could be Anthaxia thalassophila pseudokervillei. Sorry I can not make more accurate diagnosis at this time. Tomasius |

Tomasius just checked in Muhle & all, 2000 and yes, A.myrmidon is not signaled for Greece. seen this photo on the forum and from there my name  sorry I'm working blind because don't have anything to go on a more scientific/systematic way for a name. sometime is incredible that buprestidae is the family with more or less the most beautiful species and there is no monography for Europe with good illustrations (at least for some groups)... but is possible that I'm wrong.... please let me know if somewhere something like this exist. cosmln |

Purtroppo ora non ho il tempo di farlo. Tentare una determinazione solo per esclusione, basandosi sulle specie citate di Grecia, mi sembra poco serio. |

A.(s.str.) thalassophila pseudokervillei Niehuis,1990 - male E 'sicuramente un maschio della specie A.thalasophila pseudokervillei. Il maschio de la specie A.podolica ha il bar posteriori stinchi con i denti. Tipici sono più corte antenne - A.t.pseudokervillei...
