This species is in the Anthaxia funerula group. There are several species belonging to this group, all very similar and quite impossible to be identified by photo. A very good photo of the prothorax and male genitalia is needed to try to identify them. However, In Tunis, only 3 species of the group are known. Your specimen could be Anthaxia (Anthaxia) spinolae hesperica Bily, 2006, but I am absolutely not sure! I think that also Mr. Anthaxia could have problems to identify it using this photo. |
