Questa Trachys è stata raccolta con i piattini in ambiente ripario con vegetazione alofila.

Grecia, Thessaloniki, Limni Volvi, 15.VII.2008, L. Fancello leg. Lunghezza 2,5 mm

Is similar to T. minuta

Trachys minuta has more prolonged body,rounded apex of elytrae and typical pattern of the the white hairs.

Definitely is not T. minuta. The shoulders (humerus) of the elytra is more pronounced in T. minuta.

Piero, puoi provare a fare una foto con la parte posteriore delle elitre a fuoco? Vorrei vedere se quelle fasce di peli bianchi che sembrano esserci ci sono veramente. E se riesci, farebbe comodo anche una foto della parte inferiore.

Ciao.
Ho fatto queste foto dove i peli bianchi sono più a fuoco e più contrastati.
A me sembra che, in effetti, formino delle fascie trasverse sulle elitre (sul disco sono probabilmente in gran parte caduti).

in my opinion it seems to be Trachys problematica Obenberger, 1918. Trachys minuta is definitly wrong!

why not? The Trachys on the photo of Piero is obviously more related to your linked T. problematica from Nikola Rahmé than to T. minuta, this both taxa are fundamentally different species, also in morphology. I will not say that this is T. problematica without any doubts, because we can’t see much details on the photos, so it also could be T. puncticollis rectilineata or T. lichtensteini (but my favorite is T. problematica), T. minuta is not correct. The structure and order of the hairs especially on the elytra is completely different in both taxa. Can you see the “dots” especially in the mid of the elytra? At T. minuta they are smaller and not so deep.

Dear Tenebrio,

Can you remember on what kind of plant did you capture this? Swapping on the arid or less arid low vegetation? On a tree or a bush leaves? It could help us to find a point.
