The presence of this subspecies in Romania, even in Western countries is still uncertain. There have some reports in older literature, but this could not be verified.

In this case, I think there are ony two possibilities:
1 - misidentifications or mislabelling
2 - polychloros is not a ssp. of millefolii, but a good species

It can be even because of the old synonymization with A. signaticollis, treated like a Anthaxia millefolii, since Anthaxia (H) millefolii was treated as A. smaragdifrons or A. chlorocephala or as you said, A. polychloros. It is gonna getting confusing.
