I have only this specimen, a female. It been a while when I collected this one, so I can't remember what plant I got it from. The habitat consist on a wood with Quercus robur, Populus alba, nigra, tremula, Salix many species, Periploca greca, on sand.. or sand dunes with Salix rosmarinifolia.

The antehumeral carina missing, lateral margins of the prosternal process are parallel, length: 6 mm, the eyes are in the same level with antennal fosettes, not like in lineola/salicis.

pseudocyaneus? Penso che Gianfranco possa sciogliere la prognosi!

The apices of the elytra are too sharp for pseudocyaneus.

What is the problem with this specimen, Adrian? Looks like A.suvorovi.

The problem with this Agrilis is 6 mm, Georgi. I have suvorovi 8-9 mm. I thought of the possibility of a very small suvorovi, but it is just a little bigger than an angustulus. Agrilus suvorovi has a short prehumeral carinula. This one has no track of carinula.

Hi Adrian,
effectively give a name to this specimen is a problem. Anyway, by the picture, I think that it may be an aberration of A. populneus caused by a scarce food of the larva. Anyway I think to be more precise if I can see the specimen.
Cordially

Hi there, Adrian.

As during these weeks I'm trying to organize my Agrilus' collection, therefore I'm also "sniffing" previous posts.

I've found this one, among yours. Well, I think there's a problem with the identification.

The depicted species cannot belong in "populneus", according to my (scarce) knowledge. It lacks at all prehumeral carinae, its size is really small, etc.

Did you try to check this specimen with Agrilus pratensis Redt. ?

Your specimen is not bicolorous as usually occurs in the species, but I've got several specimens just like this one from southern Italy.

Best regards, A

Just a suggestion, nothing more....

It's always difficult to "mumble" only upon photos, you know
