Most probably Acmaeodera saxicola, but in turkey there are other two species quite similar: Acmaeodera simulans and another one I don't remember now, perhaps A. biseriata. |

Poi non ditemi che le prime tre non si somigliano tanto! |

Looking at the images added by Ilja, and comparing them with the specimen from Turkey, I am wondering why the latter is not A. simulans: both specimens have the same shape of the hairy pronotum, and both lack the lateral yellowish spot on pronotum. On the contrary, the shape of the pronotum of saxicola is totally different, it is not hairy (at least il looks so), and has a yellowish marginal spot. |

A.saxicola and A.simulans have totally different position of spots, BUT - some simulans havent spots, and some simulans have two stripes only...on photography are typical specimen ... In Turkey lives cca 5 morphological groups of A.saxicola, and its true that some saxicola is very similar to simulans, and some other is similar to big A.biseriata... |

Thanks so much for explanation, Ilja: thus I presume that their identification is really a mess!!! |
