Coraebosoma violaceum Bellamy 1990

Una delle bestie più infotografabili che mi siano capitate!

Ogni forma di diffusione della luce porta a colori innaturali e fa emergere una serie di macchie iridescenti dovute ad un sottilissimo velo di qualche sostanza che riveste la cuticola e che non si riesce ad eliminare completamente con nessun solvente (acqua, etanolo, acetone, etere, ecc.). Illuminandolo con luce diretta scompaiono questi aloni, ma l'insetto in foto sembra quasi nero, mentre in realtà è di un bel blu intenso con riflessi violacei. Alla fine ho dovuto ripiegare su una soluzione intermedia, con luce un po' asimmetrica quasi non schermata.

Il colore reale è quasi lo stesso, solo un po' più scuro nel Buprestide.
