Ciao Maurizio, I have never seen any of this species, but I guess this is Biphyllus frater, the second species of genus Biphyllus occuring in Italy. See the difference in the antennae, especially the antennal lobes. Ciao Klaas |

Biphyllidae for sure, but the specimen has only two-segmented antennal club so it can't be Diplocoelus. I think it is Biphyllus - maybe frater or abberative lunatus...not 100% sure

Scusate!!! E' proprio il Biphyllus frater: clava antennale di 2 articoli e non tre come in Diplocoelus fagi. Come ho già detto in altro messaggio sono in montagna senza collezione nè bibliografia! Scusandomi ancora Ciao Gianfranco |

Grazie a tutti. In effetti sembrerebbe proprio Biphyllus frater. In questi giorni stavo cercando anche di trovare Biphyllus lunatus, su indicazioni di Klaas, ed invece è uscita fuori l'altra specie! |

This was done using Canon 550D on an old Pentacon bellows with a Lomo planachromat microscope objective 9x/0.20. (bellows shortened to get 7x). |
