Asteroscopus syriaca (Warren, 1910) very interesting late autumn species. It never visit my sugar traps. But last night it came in our light trap on masses.

Hi Victor. Nice to see you again. I like your light screen, but you have to put a white sheet under the screen. Some insects just hit the screen or the lamp and fall down and you can't find them.

The pictures were made very early in the morning Ady :-) I had no time to think how to do the best pictures - one of us must pick up the traps - me, the other must pick up the sugar bait, tent and to prepare the car. One of t he pictures is darker because on the back side of the hill, where we were is shady until 10.00 the light picture of the moth was made with a moth sitting on stone, I just put it on sunny place :-).

Hey Victor, I had nothing to say about the pictures, they are good enough for me. I just advised you to put a white sheet under the trap, more bugs especially beetles they come attracted by light and when they fly to the light source, they hit on the trap screen or on the lamp itself and fall down in the ground and you cannot see them in the grass. That's why is better to have a white background under the light trap.

Hi again Ady,

I am sorry, it seems did not understand the question well . In fact the bottom of the sheet must be darker, and the "walls" white, so the insects stay on the white part of the sheet - no insects can be smashed. And the light trap/sheet is not complete on first post- we forgot in Sofia the most important stuff : in the center of the sheet, where the 'hole' is myst be places bucket with a lid and another actinic / ultra violet lamp plus chloroform tube inside, it works wery well !
