Not sure about this one at all! Maybe not even Geometridae. Found in southern Catalonia, Spain, at about 450 metres in October this year. Any advice welcome! Apologies for poor photograph.

Hi Matthew

I'd say Larentia malvata (Rambur 1833), Geometridae, mainly because of the shape ("high" and square) of its forewing, but also for its pattern, with that layout of whitish spots quite uncommon in this family. But I've no direct experience about this very variable species, so I can be wrong...

I would say that Paolo is right.

Even by not sure, I'd say it's more likely that this is Larentia malvata (Rambur, 1833)
