il Bolbelasmus unicornis è segnalto per l'Italia Nord est di Luint (UD) m. 607 26 VIII 1962

la segnalazione è stata pubblicata sugli atti del museo di Trieste:
Una specie nuova per il Friuli : Bolbelasmus unicornis (Schrank) (Coleoptera Geotrupidae) / Giambattista Benasso. - Vol. 27 (1971-72), 3, p. 167-172 : ill.

Typical locality of Bolbelasmus unicornis in south of central Slovakia, near Hajnáčka vill.
In surroundings there are a few southly projected big hills with very extensive areas of low pasturages, on hilltops are primary diluted oak forest, mainly represented with oak Quercus cerris and Q.pubescens.

Very interesting. Odontaeus armiger is quite common in the hilly regions of Romania. You need a light trap, otherwise you even don't know it exists there. But in a good night you can find 15-20 specimens at one light trap. Bolbelasmus unicornis is very very rare.

adults of Bolbelasmus unicornis are sure mystical and mysterious beetles, with very very interesting biology.....

Nice photos ......In my small collection I have 2 specimens : 1 male (unfortunately i don't have the exact data and I found it dead and dry, so is not in a perfect condition ) and 1 female (a perfect specimen, I found it in 2010 in my kitchen, attracted probably by the light )
