E' un Lygaeidae, dovrebbe essere Lygaeus equestris ( Linnaeus, 1778 )

Anche a me sembra che sia un Lygaeus, ma non sono in grado di distinguere se sia L. equestris o L. simulans.

In base all'estensione della macchia rossa del capo, degli esemplari illustrati in questa discussione solo il secondo dovrebbe essere equestris e tutti gli altri simulans?

Un "confronto all'americana" come questo vale più di 100 spiegazioni. Grazie Paride. In base a questo esempio mi sembra che tutti gli esemplari che ho trovato sinora in Sardegna (o almeno quelli che ho fotografato) sono tutti equestris. Ciò non toglie che anche simulans possa essere presente in regione, più raro, o più raro nelle zone che abitualmente frequento.

NOTA BENE: spesso le differenze cromatiche non sono sufficienti ed è facile confondersi. La lunghezza delle setole sullo scutello resta però il carattere discriminante.
