Direi Metopius (Peltocarus) croceicornis. JP: immages of this species in Tolkanitz's work I think are not correct. Better to read the old descriptions in Clément & co. Filippo

Ciao Filippo  Quello da me a suo tempo fotografato qui me lo confermi come Metopius croceicornis? Oppure è un Metopius continuus come proposto da Hélène Dumas? |

Non avevo visto la risposta di Helene. Appena ho un attimo controllo con le mie chiavi e gli esemplari in collezione. Helene dice: "According to Tolkanitz, M. croceicornis has larger and non linear yellow stripes on tergites". Ma da quello che ricordo M.croceicornis HA bande gialle lineari, a differenza di quanto rappresentato in Tolkanitz. A suo tempo controllai a Monaco (ZMS) esemplari di croceicornis determinati da Bauer e sono come quello raccolto da te. Matthias Riedel ha recentemente studiato le specie africane del genere, e ha alcuni miei esemplari in studio. Ne approfitterò per chiedere delucidazioni anche a lui in merito. Filippo
