Helo!

Today present an interesting representative of Sphingidae:
Some taxon suellus consider it a subspecies, while others only aberrations of color or form.

Anyway we are dealing with Deilephila porcellus suellus (STAUDINGER, 1878). ;)

Armenia, Syunik Marz, Aygedzor,
11 VI 2013, ad lucem, leg. A. Woźniak, det. R. Zamorski

Very nice and interesting specimen (and taxon), with a wing pattern deeply different from that of our populations of the same species: for all those who don't know it, we are speaking about the Small Elephant Hawk-moth, Deilephila porcellus (Linnaeus, 1758), this one:

In addition to coloration is difficult to find any other differences between the nominative subspecies and Delilephila porcellus (ssp.?) (ab.?) (var.?) suellus. :D

If the name porcellus refers to its pinkish colouring, it not so suitable for this taxon...
