Maybe in this case this is not so clear like in your specimen of Odontomachus, but this is also a queen like you can see from the morphology of the thorax and the presence of the 3 ocelli.

Basically you are doing the checklist of Neoponera spp. :lol:

According to Mackay & Mackay, 2010, the best way to distinguish among the species in the crenata complex is to look at the petiole from above. With the higher edge positioned backward and a strongly narrowed anterior portion (see in the first photo) it is N. crenata.
