Monomorium ebeninum Forel, 1891 This is a typical "salvage raft". When there is a flooding of their nest, many ants use these rafts to save portions of the colony. They are usually made with larvae (with the best flotation) on the lower level and workers and queens on top. |

Wow thanks for species ID of these small ones.  and for the information on ant swimming..they look kind of lost in this situation
