yet , according to systematics here followed, Cylindera (Eugrapha) contorta (Fischer von Waldheim, 1828)

... this following fauna eur and others; for me, i would be more inclined to treat Eugrapha as self-standing genus

Interesting and unusual, I collected only 2 specimens and both came at the light trap screen, during the day I found only C. chiloleuca and C. littoralis. I don't know yet if C. contorta is halophil too.

what about biotope? i think to remember a statement that contorta lives along sandy sea coasts, just on shoreline

p.s. some tiger beetles do occasionally come to light by night, especially with moonlight; in sardinia, many years ago , i have repeatedly found at light Calomera littoralis fiorii and Myriochila melancholica, but never Lophyra (flexuosa) sardea, occurring in the same site

The biotope is mostly sandy, even sand dunes, but not so close to the sea shore (there are some tens of kilometers distance) . But I found even some salty areas.

note that if contorta only stays on wet ground close to water, because of small size and cryptic pattern it may be highly unconspicuous...
