Hi,

Some of the specimens collected in pitfall trap in Babes Mountain (45.465958/25.913235), Cosmin O. Manci Leg. (29.june-8.july.2010).
Now my questions what is the correct name?
Carabus (Orinocarabus) linnaei Panzer, 1812 like in FaunaEU (found under this name also here)
Carabus (Orinocarabus) linnei Panzer, 1810 like in Löbl & Smetana. 2003. Catalogue of Palaearctic Coleoptera, Volume 1: Archostemata, Myxophaga and Adephaga

Also is possible to know what ssp is?
In the Catalogue for Romania are listed 2 ssp.:
- linnei Panzer, 1810
- macairei Dejean, 1826

you can see the attached pdf, this is created with Adobe InDesign (usually I create a page or half page for each days/station from field, print and ...).
If you need and want I can give you the source file on e-mail (let me know about that on PM).

Hi, according to the Catalogue of Deuve it is:

C. (Carpatophilus) linnaei Panzer, 1812

C. linnaei macairei Dejean, 1826 is larger and darker. I collected many in Banat, it is quite different to the typical one.

Thank you for the help. In this case probably I will receive a lot from there (I have to receive a lot of material from South Banat, couple of tens of pitfall traps are there for me... but probably only later in fall).

Scusatemi, ma ne approfitto per chiedere un'aggiornamento per questa specie: secondo voi (o secondo la letteratura più recente) è la stessa specie che abbiamo qui in Trentino A.A. ? :? :roll: :roll:

Ciao Andrea,
in Trentino (ma anche qui in Friuli e nel Veneto) si trova la ssp. folgariacus Bernau, 1913.
E' una forma non troppo diversa dalla tipica ma sulle serie si apprezzano le differenze.

se ti riferisci agli esemplari diffusi dalle Alpi e Prealpi Bresciane alle Dolomiti ed alle Carniche (cito da Fauna d'Italia), è lui; mentre del Trentino A.A. non mi risulta.
si tratta per le Alpi Orientali della "varietà" descritta come folgariacus Bernau, 1913, in sinonimia con la forma tipica.

non hai mica tutti i torti... :oops: :oops:...ho sempre pensato (erroneamente) che la bestia avesse un areale molto più ristretto in Italia; anche ckmap conferma che mi sbagliavo.
