I write what I remember, because I have no time to compare with my collection. The european species of Badister of small size with partly yellowish elytra are two: Badister (Trimorphus) sodalis (Duftschmid, 1812) and Badister (Trimorphus) dorsiger (Duftschmid, 1812). In my opinion this is a specimen of dorsiger, both for the color of the elytra and the size (sodalis is smaller, with only a small anterior yellowish patch). If my observation is correct, this would also be the first finding in Bulgaria, because until the european checklist it was not known from this country. ![]() I will check later, but if someone can confirm my hypothesis I will be glad. Have a good day ![]() |

hi georgi finally i could make some comparisons with museum material... colour is not reliably diagnostic ![]() however, the shape of pronotum, particularly anterior angles, fairly projecting forwards (not at all in sodalis) and posterior ones, in sodalis sharper and slightly projecting outwards, before these with pronotum sides sinuate... ... all indicate Badister (Trimorphus) dorsiger (Duftschmid, 1812) ![]() ![]() ![]() |
