Visto che in quest'altra discussione se ne discuteva, ecco un

Ceroglossus darwini (Hope, 1837)

Questa dovrebbe essere la forma tipica, almeno credo. Uno dei Ceroglossus meno vistosi.

Tanto sono pochi, e se contatti qualche cileno si rimediano abbastanza facilmente, a parte una o due specie più difficili da trovare. In compenso, anche se le specie sono poche, hanno una variabilità cromatica mostruosa, infatti si sono moltiplicate sottospecie, varietà, ecc.

Ecco, la voglia di pubblicare le mie foto mi è già passata! Non dico di avere mai avuto l'intenzione di competere con Julodis come resa delle foto, ma adesso me ne vergognerei proprio. :oops:

Questo è effettivamente il vero C. darwini darwini, diffuso in una zona molto ampia della terraferma cilena e dell'isola di Chiloé.

Vorrei però precisare che è possibile farsi con facilità una piccola raccolta che mostri un po' della variabilità delle specie, ma una collezione completa è difficilissimo: delle otto specie conosciute ce ne sono quattro che si possono rimediare facilmente e quattro molto meno. In compenso delle oltre 80 sottospecie descritte, molte delle quali apparentemente del tutto valide, ce ne sono varie note solo sui tipi e altre rarissime, o per lo meno che non vengono mai offerte. Diciamo che io sto cercando di completare la collezione da anni e sono arrivato a circa il 75% delle forme attualmente note. :cry:

Invece penso che se aprissi una discussione per ciascuna delle specie (meno quella che non hai in collezione!), mettendoci le foto delle varie ssp e forme o che altro sono, faresti un'ottima cosa, a prescindere dalla qualità più o meno buona delle foto.
A proposito, quale è la specie che non hai ancora? Magari non è una delle due che non ho io! (che comunque ho pochissime sottospecie. I miei esemplari sono quelli che prendevo ogni tanto dal compianto L. E. Peña per completare i pacchetti di Buprestidi cileni)

Hi Maurizio,
I didn't count how many subspecies there's exactly, but yes, there's now 10 species!
I discovered C. archoides and C. morpheus in very wild forests, where nobody never went before. :-D
I published these descriptions in Lambillionea's review.
