But allow me to have a different opinion ... :?
In Abacetus is missing totally the scutellar stria, while moreover the second article of the antenna is eccentric relative to the first. Neither of the two does not apply here ...

Most probably that this specimen belongs to one of the subgenera of Poecilus, perhaps Poecilus (Ancholeus). I think there is a keel, in the first article of the antenna ...

George you are right. The second article looked eccentric to me, at a first glance and also it looked bluish to me, but is probably black and the blue is a dominant artifact of the picture.
I think is Pterostichus (Phonias) strenuus (Panzer, 1796), sorry :oooner:
