I have never been so far South but am sure the only Carabus with that pattern of elitrae are C coriaceus to be confused with but this si definitely C graecus from the pattern and shape of body don't know if down there are different subspecies of C greacus No other Carabus with that pattern that i know |

ahhh, okay now. I always thought that graecus takes only NE part of the Mainland and then Islands. Now I have read, that graecus graecus is in C as well as S part of Greece including Peloponnese...nice one ! Good to have you here  Thanks guys ! So we can easily call it graecus graecus

No Marco. Actually I wasn`t looking for any Carabus this year, no traps, no night driving, nothing like that. I was after Dorcadions. But while turning the stones ( the weather was a proper shajt this year , so most of the Dorcs were hiding ), I found a few convexus, coriaceus and this one, nothing else.

i found the same probs too these days in Thessaly ... but many Flower beetles and many at UV light am satisfied anyway |

quanto vicino ? adesso sto bazzicanfo il Pelion da 1000 a 1500 metri torno in settembre a vedere poi ci andro' in primavera a cercare nei ceppi ( se ne trovo .. ) mi interessano da scambiare ma li vorrei trovare io mandami MP con i posti dove li avete trovati ....
