Personally, I hesitate between Carabus intricatus and Carabus (Megodontus) purpurascens ... What do the experts think

Ouch. In my opinion, showing that big head, strangely shaped angular pronotum, elongated elytrae and short legs it cannot be an intricatus. It looks more similar to a purpurascens or a violaceus, probably with some misshape due to a wound or a problem during metamorphosis. It is just my two cents, mind it.

Might be C. problematicus? The picture is too dark to see the sculpture of elytra. G.
