Another Pogonocherus species bound to silver fir (Abies alba) - Pogonocherus ovatus (Goeze, 1777)
Despite of considerable decrease of silver fir growths in central Europe, hibernating adults of this species can be easily found during winter on remaining older trees. This species develops in thin twigs of the host plant, adults hatch probably during late summer/early autumn and overwinter under flakes of bark of older fir-trees.
