And I have here some adult Purpuricenus. It is fresh adult female. Is this aberation P.budensis,kaehleri or P.graecus?. It is 15 mm. lenght. The antennae is the long withal wtih elytra. It is grown from Quercus coccifera. I found broken branch last year on Peloponese near Karyes. The adult is fresh now, but the color is not completed. So I can make photo next time..... But I can not make better photo, when she is alive....

In my opinion it is Purpuricenus budensis.

Thanks Marcin, I dont know. My friend spoke, that P.budensis has not such stain. So I ask you on this forum.... |

For me surely Purpuricenus (s. str.) budensis (Götz, 1783). P.graecus and kaehleri are different. I'm not an expert, but in this case I am sure, however it's better to wait the advice of Gianfranco or other specialist |

Normale che il pronoto sia di un colore cosi forte e le elitre cosi sbiadite  Aberrazione  Ibrido O qualcos'altro ...Gianfranco......

Non siamo arrivati ad alcunché, bisogna avere l'esemplare sotto il binoculare e spero lo avrà presto Pierpaolo. |

Perchè non ti convince Gianfranco? In effetti a guardarlo bene sembra qualcosa di diverso....ma siccome in Grecia non c'è niente altro, che può essere? Diteci qualcosa

Come non c'è nient'altro ? Come ha già scritto Lukas, c'è P. graecus. E poi P. renyvonae e non dimentichiamo P. kaehleri apiceniger (l'ibrido di Alessandro  ) . Ma questa è una storia complicata che merita di essere approfondita in altra sede

Hello colleagues in Italy. Type in the photo above is a new species described from Greece, Peloponnisos-Karyes and is called Purpuricenus comenius Vartanis & Ambrus 2015. I post a photo kind P.comenius -Holotypus and Paratypus.
