I´m not sure about this specimen. Did I determinate this one correctly?

I think you're right, but it's better to wait for a confirmation from Pierpaolo or other

Dear Stepan,
You can identify your Purpuricenus as cornifrns. The populations frm southern areas (Mardin, Adyaman, Gaziantep, etc.) are little different from the northern ones. P. Cornifrons is described from Buglan and collected Tunceli and Bingol. The situation is investigated for a next paper.

Thanks again, Pierpaolo :D . I was not sure, but what else this can be? My friend reared another one specimen from Nurdagi Gecidi and it looks like the same species (see photo - with Vláďa´s permission).

Hi Stepan,
the specimens from Nurdagi belongs to interscapillatus. The situation is very difficult. I'm sure that all these animals are subspecies of a unique species. For this reason to give a name to these animals is not always easy. For know you can identify your Purpuricenus as cfr cornifrons.

Hi Jacek,
after my paper it should be Purpuricenus interscapillatus s.str.
The range of this subspecies is Southern Turkey Toros mountains) Eastward to Mardin province (Mydiat is very close to Hop Gecidi, Mardin).

Yes, its true. Check please one again - this specimen(s) are similar to cornifrons - wide black spot on elytra and long antennae. Besides Midyat is near Van. Geographic distribution is no good criterium to divide subspecies. Morphological specimen on the photo is similar to cornifrons....

Be aware, first foto is from Mydiat, second from Nurdagi Gecidi.

Areal (Midyat nad Mus) is near, specimens are very similar.
We have a some subspecies different only by habitus.
I think that need confirmed determination specimens and - if it is really cornifrons - will make a little correct for areal distribution of this subspecies.

Dear Jacek,
I'm sorry but Mydiat is close to Mardin and in the same province (I was there in May). The specimens from Nurdagi are surely interscapillatus s.str.

So, if I understand that right, the one from Mydiat is interscapillatus cornifrons and the one from Nurdagi
interscapillatus interscapillatus?
