Very Interesting Adam...can u share more about it? Mainly i wish to know how you found the branch: laying on the ground? Or it was attached on the trunk? Diameter of branch? Moist or dry? In Italy is hard to meet pronocera...in my life i reared it only 4 times and i have not still clear in my mind what kind of wood it is good for it... |

Dear Marci, I do not have a good picture of habitat of this species. ![]() Especially for you I'll try to describe it: P. angusta I found in the forest economy, not the type of primary forest. Rather moist environment, the branches do not lay on the ground. Branches of spruce trees were dead, with a diameter of 10 - 20 mm. Habitat and the material was similar to Molorchus minor. The thicker sections of the same branch were larvae of Monochamus saltuarius. I hope I helped you at least a little? |

The eggs were deposited in the branches of dying or recently withered. Larval material was not lying directly on the ground (not in contact with the ground). They were broken treetops, cut and folded into a pile of branches, and branches broken by the wind. |

Does pronocerashare the same branches with molorcus in your experience ot the 2 species were found always separately? |
