Very interesting exx... i found only 2 times in italian Alps. One day one single specimen and one time i was very lucky to found around 17 exx. walking and mating in a little pile of wood. It was middle july and around 14 o clock and sun was warming the wood! When shadows has back beetles desappeared. A curiosity: the day I was looking at a pile of wood where, on the one hand, there were the local farmers who were taking the wood and were milling to make chips and the other side I was there that I collected insects !!!! if I got there the next day I would not find anything... ![]() |

I confirm your observations, Marci. ![]() On the outskirts of the Bialowieza Forest, in the town of Hajnówka, this species I met on the composition of spruce wood imported from the forest. And in the village Bialowieza I watched it on the new fence made from spruce wood. Beetles were active during the day, while nice, sunny weather. |
