This time, a few words about an interesting beetle: Ropalopus macropus (GERMAR, 1824)
This species often meet in Mazovia, but in other areas it is rarely Polish record. This is an outstanding polifagus: develops very many deciduous trees as hazel (Corylus spp.), oak (Quercus spp.), maple (Acer spp.), elm (Ulmus spp.), hornbeam (Carpinus spp.), and many others. Larval development lasts for one year or two years. It is found in a variety of environments: forests, parks, trees along the roads, as well as on trees in large cities, including Warsaw, often in the same.
Imagines appear in May and June. On warm days, they run the wood, and can sometimes also visit flowers, such as hawthorn (Crataegus spp.)
