Please help in identification.
This beetle got as Stenopterus flavicornis. According to me it is mauritanicus. However, it comes from Croatia - is it possible?

Hi Jacek, I have similar specimen from Bulgaria. In my opinion it is only a light form of Stenopterus rufus. Pierpaolo |

Thank you very much, Pierpaolo  Everything indicates that this is S.rufs, clear variety. What characteristics set it apart from S.mauritanicus? Is location important here? S.rufus is also found in Spain (like the S.mauritanicus) - as distinguished from light mauritanicus variety rufus ???  best wishes - Jacek
