I found specimens such as in the picture among the specimens of Stictoleptura pallens. The features of the wing covers and the brown highlights of the tentacles segments indicate S.picticornis. However, specimens are from Bulgaria .... and here picticornis is not shown. I do not have specimens of Stictoleptura picticornis .... I have nothing to compare :-( Please, help me.
Regards - Jacek

A normal view from the top would be better, but it's almost surely Stictoleptura tesserula ;) . I've found too in Bulgaria some specimens without elytral spots, and the population was for a big portion without spots, let's say 60% without, 20% with very small spots and 20% with normal spots or smaller than normal.

Tesserula without black apex of elytra ? Doubt it.

And Cretan endemic in Bulgaria ?

Why not pallens ?

Thank you very much for your answer. ... tesserula has very thick and clear points on the elytra (especially it can be seen on the shoulders). I have tesserula and the difference is huge.

Zdeno - Elytra cut at an angle, not at right angles, like pallens and completely black antennae. This one of mine has slitted heels and brown highlights in the middle. These are the key features.

Yes Zdenko, you are right, I did't pay attention to the photos, in addition tesserula have lighter elytra generally.
I've not the collection here, so I can't check if some S. fulva has not the black apex.

It is pallens for me. Apex of elytra is just defected. It happens occasionally, specially in females. Antenna - nothing special. Some imagoes having it. I don`t know what it causes. Maybe it is fresh or immature specimen ? I have some Dorcadions with totally brown/reddish specimens, while the others of the same species collected in the same spot have normal black coloured antenna.

P.S. Yes, fulva has black apex of elytra...

Hello everyone, and thank you very much for your help.
A friend from Poland has a lot of pallens from Greece and Bulgaria. He also has a picticornis from Crete. Conclusion - this is my pallens. The feature with the ending of the elytra is weak. The trait with the antennae color is also poor. Generally - specimens from Crete (picticornis) are more delicate, smaller, slightly built. And they are just from Crete :-) In general, you have to think about the sense of the picticornis species.
Once again, thank you all for your help. Regards - Jacek
