Oggetto del messaggio:  Cryptocephalus (Burlinius) macellus Suffrian, 1860 - Chrysomelidae
Hi :hi: , this small Cryptocephalus was collected in Romania on the Black Sea shore, in sand dunes habitat, in october 2022. It is small, the lenght is less than 3 mm. An identification is much appreciated! :birra:

Andrea is right, this is Cryptocephalus macellus.

Thanks you guys :lov1: :hi: , after the Catalogue of Palearctic Coleoptera it is new for Romania, although it is not a surprise since it is present in the neighbouring coutries :ok:

I could not find any info regarding its host plant or the habitat od this species, maybe can you help with this info? :hi: :birra:

Hi, the host plants cited by M. Burlini in his revision of the genus (1956) are: Prunus spinosa, Quercus and Rumex.
