i'm stuck with this Hoplia, and don't succeed to reach an end.
followed the key from Baraud, 1992 (in bracket the number from the key):
9 antennal article >
(6) claw of posterior leg without a split >
(7) median tooth of protibia going to the front >
(14) the small claw from anterior (and median) tarses without a split >
(15) pigidium and sternitae with more or less round scales >
(16) and here I'm ending with two species:

graminicola - small claw from the anterior (and median) tarses almost invisible, is not the case and also this is a large one ~11mm, H.graminicola will be something like ~6mm

I have done something wrong? is possible to help me? is there some new paper dealing with additional species of Hoplia?

this is the only male found, collected in north-east of Greece (41.315708/26.064153) in 19.may.2010, leg. Cosmin Manci.

The habitus match that of H. argentea, including furrow along the posterior claws... are you sure that there is no split on the small claws of median legs?

and off-course that you are right Marco.
the split is almost invisible comparing with romanian specimens of H.argentea... will post a pair in few minutes.

Later Edit: Hoplia is in Rutelidae (like in Fauna EU) or Melolonthidae (like in Baraud)???
