Hi :hi:
I catched this weevil in the night at an electric lightning. Size is 4,5 mm.
Can anyone help to determine?

Ciao :hi:

Entomoderus group dilatatus (Fabricius, 1801). It is not possible to be more precise, considering the present level of knowledge of the Mediterranean Hipporhinini.

Thanks a lot, Massimo! So even a study of the record itself wouldn't make it better.

I had planned a revision of this genus maybe 20 years ago. It never started... I have a number for all the various species, including this species from Ibiza and the Balearic Islands. But never tried to associate a name to the number. Probably next year I will publish a nomenclatural work on the types conserved at the Paris Museum - the majority of the species were named by French entomologists, mainly (and unfortunately...) Desbrochers and Pic. In this way it may be possible to at least refer these species to a name. The first step towards a revision!
