A good guess, alternatively Entymetopus lineolatus Motschulski 1860. Not easy to differentiate the two species only based on a photograph, but E. lineolatus has relatively long, well visible setae on elytra, mainly on the distal part, whereas E. klapperichi has very short setae. From the photo it is impossible to see. And in a genus that (not surprisingly in Cleonini) is in need of revision. E. klapperichi was described of Afghanistan, and it was reported from Khorasan by Legalov & al., 2010, whereas if this is E. lineolatus it would be new for Iran. Please let me know about the setae on elytra, I need it since I am now compiling a world catalogue of the Cleonini, with all distribution fully referenced. |
