Unique specimen under stone, alpine pastures, altitude about 1800 m. Length (without the rostrum) 8 mm. There are several similarities with P. epiroticus Osella & Bellò, 2010 (description and identification key), but it does not fit absolutely. The place of this finding is located about 120 km to the SE, from the locus typicus of P. epiroticus. The possibility of a new species has not been ruled out. Any opinion is very welcome.  George

  le fossette ai lati della carena del prodotto sono caratteristiche di Paraminyops epiroticus Osella & Bellò, 2010 oltre che di P. lacunosus lacunosus (che però è dell'isola di Corfù)...Al momento, in mancanza di estrazioni e di altri esemplari, non possiamo che dire Paraminyops cfr epiroticus Osella & Bellò, 2010.

Thank you very much Cesare !!! OK, the name Paraminyops cfr. epiroticus most probably is the best we can say on it. There is another specimen of Paraminyops in the collection here, clearly different, which is very similar to Paraminyops lacunosus lacunosus. Also comes from the mainland Greece (not from the island of Corfu). I will try to photograph and post it here, tomorrow. George |
