it's genus Ericydeus. Probably Ericydeus nigropunctatus.

Wow! Really it's in a different genus than this? http://projects.biodiversity.be/openup/ ... y/1566.jpg Your genus seems as good too! :)

The pattern looks like more matching with Ericydeus sedecimpunctatus than with E. nigropunctatus. But both taxa have a black dot in the middle of basal half of elytra, while mine have only the humeral dot and the preapical dots. It can be any of these in a "less-spotted" morph?

Many thanks!

The absence of two spots also puzzled me greatly. But they have exactly a large variety of stained. Maybe this is some kind of morph. E. sedecimpunctatus too may well be.

Thanks. Here is a revision of the genus with keys https://brill.com/view/journals/ise/26/ ... p393_3.xml but I'm unable to access to it.

Oh, that's GREAT!!! Big thanks!
The keys (with the help of illustrations) leads me to Ericydeus nigropunctatus, if I see correctly where is the widest point of pronotum and elytra in my image. Thanks!!

"Black dots small" leads to E. argentinensis and "black dots medium sized" to nigropunctatus/sedecimpunctatus, however, the complete lack of pinkish hue make me thing in E. nigropunctatus. The keys doesn't mention if some dot can be missing or not so I will assume that it's a variable character :)

Also, this is not mentioned in the keys but I see in the photos. The image of E. nigropunctatus shows elytral mucron jointed (as in my photo) and the image of E. sedecimpunctatus shows elytral mucron strongly dehiscent. So this is one more point for strenght the ID of my photo as E. nigropunctatus :-)

I'm just happy to help. I also think that it is closer to nigropunctatus, although the coloring is not quite typical for this species.
Good luck. :birra:
