Tachyporinae, but surely not Tachyporus... What about Bolitobius?

Thanks both for the heads up! I was certainly off course. Since the abdomen tip is not black I'd say not Bolitobius cingulatus, but I think B. castaneus is very likely. Your opinion? http://coleonet.de/coleo/texte/bolitobius.htm |

You are right, I overlooked that B. castaneus has forms with completely red and completely black pronotum. In my web page is only this red form: http://www.cassidae.uni.wroc.pl/Colpolo ... taneus.htm So, your beetle belongs probably to the nominative form of B. castaneus with black pronotum. |
