In the Oriental region there are several genera of Galerucinae which are at first glance similiar to the European Phyllobrotica. Each year have been described several new genera of Galerucinae and their identification is a strennous procedure. Although one species of the genus Phyllobrotica (Ph. elegantula Jacoby, 1896) was described from SE Asia (Sumatra) its placement in the genus Phyllobrotica is doubtful.

Lech, just wanna say that Timor includes australian fauna as well

Yes, you are right. Fauna of Timor is a mixt of Oriental and Australian elements. In my group (Cassidinae) all species from Timor belong to Oriental groups. Within Chrysomelidae forest species from Timor represent mostly Oriental groups, arid species are rather close to Australian groups.
