Hello, I can't ID this Bruchidius specimen with the keys that I have, a little help here please

Many thanks , I used that key and was thinking about olivaceus or unicolor, but the drawings of the male genitalia didn't fit with what I have, that's why I asked here   . Is there any more recent key for this species group or it's still in need of a revision?

Yes, this is one of the two species you suggested (I agree that drawings are poor in this key). For proper identification you should be separate lateral lobes from median lobe (it is easy if you soften the genitalia in KOH by several minutes and then separate the lateral lobes from median lobe using entomological pin). B. unicolor has large perpendicular keel along ventral side of basal plate of lateral lobes while in B. olivaceus the basal plate is without keel (it is well visible on drawings in the key). |
