Lanelater :ok: . It is a difficult genus, we have to wait for Giuseppe Platia to have a sure identification. Meanwhile you can try to compare your speciment to L. notodonta. :hi:

After I posted my ID request, I did a little research and indeed L. notodonta is very similar. However, the genus is numerous and many species I have not been able to find online. Hence I will wait for G. Platia.
Thaks for respond. :hi:

Lanelater sp., from Egypt is recorded only Lanelater notodonta (Latreille) but from this picture is not possible to arrived to a specific level. If it is a male and you are able to extract the aedeagus we can confirm or not the determination.

It is a male and I have dissected the aedeagus. I hope the photo helps.
You can't see it well in the photo, but there are quite long hairs at the ends of the parameters.

The aedeagus seems to be different by my specimens of L. notodonta, the base is slender and elongate. Please if possible also a dorsal view of aedeagus and a ventral picture of the adult focalized on the mesosternum.

I think it is not Lanelater notodonta (Latreille), the only species recorded from Egypt, according to my specimens for the differences in aedeagus and the rounded sub-coxal furrow that shows an extension in notodonta! It could be an undescribed species! I think that this area of North Egypt is not sufficiently frequented by the entomologists.

Baltim is a place where no tourists from Europe or other parts of Egypt come. The seat of the Landscape Park is located in the city, but the people working there have little in common with nature. I suspect you may be right about exploration by entomologists.
In addition to the presented individual, I have 3 other individuals from Baltim. I can send them all to you for further analysis if you wish.
