I have knew about the genus Ablattaria, but I have found this paper http://www.fsagx.ac.be/zg/Publications/ ... 0/1328.pdf I am not in the domain, so I wait confirmations or infirmations.

Dear Adrian, I can not really say what I think of this work, because I might be censored by the administrator of the Forum!  I am not a specialist in Silphidae, but I will just notice two details that may be indicative of the quality of this work: 1 - Different genera are combined into one: Silpha, but no explanation is given 2 - Simply check the bibliography! Also without considering these "details", how it's possible to put Phosphuga, Silpha, Ablattaria, Xylodrepa, Aclypea, Oiceoptoma, Thanatophilus, and finally Necrodes  in the same genus?I would like to know who was the referee for this paper! Lo riscrivo pure in Italiano per chi non capisce l'inglese. Non sono certo un esperto di Silphidae, ma forrei far notare giusto due particolari che secondo me sono indicativi della qualità di questo lavoro: 1 - Diversi generi vengono riuniti tutti nel genere Silpha, senza che però venga addotta alcuna ragione per questo cambiamento 2 - Basta guardare la bibliografia per rendersi conto di come sia stato fatto questo lavoro! Anche senza tener conto di questo, ma come si fa a considerare tutte in un genere le specie di Phosphuga, Silpha, Ablattaria, Xylodrepa, Aclypea, Oiceoptoma, Thanatophilus, e perfino Necrodes? Mi piacerebbe proprio sapere chi si è prestato a fare da referee per questo lavoro, sempre che qualcuno l'abbia fatto. |
