Non sono un esperto di Silphidae dell'Europa orientale, ma questo somiglia moltissimo ai miei Nicrophorus nigricornis Faldermann, 1835, raccolti in trappola, rari, sul Gran sasso.

Come dice Maurizio è un N. nigricornis Avevo adocchiato questo Nicrophorus da un po' di giorni ma non ho dato il mio parere per il seguente motivo: seguendo le chiavi arrivo a N. nigricornis ma ho notato che sulla Checklist online è dato come presente per l'Italia, secondo FaunaEur e il Catalogo dei Coleotteri Paleartici invece il nigricornis non è presente in Italia ma lo è il N. sepulchralis che sulla Checklist non è riportato. Qualcuno sa qualcosa a riguardo?

Con la eccezione del antenne quale e la differenza tra vespillo e nigricornis? Chiedo perché nigricornis e conosciuto solo da ex. Russia (Distribution: Palearctic: Caucasus, Armenia, Azerijan, n. Iran, Turkey, Georgia) vedi Sikes, D. S., A. F. Newton, and R. B. Madge. 2002. A catalog of the Nicrophorinae (Coleoptera: Silphidae) of the world. Zootaxa 65: 1-304 (link qui). Ancoro una menzione... N.nigricornis e una specia montana (Caucasus). In quel posto il typo di habitat e silvostepa (pannonic region) a cca 100 m di altitudine.

L'altra differenza è la curvatura delle tibie posteriori: debolmente arcuate in nigricornis e fortemente a nel maschio di vespillo. Comunque basta soltanto il colore delle antenne per distinguerli, sono gli unici due Nicrophorus con peluria solo nella zona anteriore del torace

After I checked more specimens from the same place, I am pretty sure this is not nigricornis. The strange collor of the antennae is because the specimens were killed and preserved in alcohol. The antenna is not black, but has a lighter collor (seems black in my picture because the poor quality ) So, solved case !

The specimens from this picture was collected by another person (in alcohol unfortunatelly )
