I found today this larva (~ 1,5 cm) under the Fagus bark. How I can breed this larva ![]()

Hi, Thanks for your answers, I will post tomorrow a photo with larval feeding, but is very probably P. testaceus because every year I see this species in this place. I have any chance to breed this larva ? |

It pupates inside the bark, therefore better to take it for rearing. Now it will not feed longer, therefore it is possible; put the larva inside a tube with frass. But better, next time, to take the wood with its bark in a box. A very common species however ![]() |
