Ho preso qualche formichina di queste da una piccola colonia in ibernazione (?) sotto la corteccia di un ceppo ai bordi di un canale di irrigazione in campagna, 2,5 mm. Le foto le ho fatte facendo aderire l'obiettivo della semicompatta all'oculare dello stereomicroscopio, secondo voi può andare?
Una foto con la luce da sotto, magari mette in evidenza altri particolari....
Vista ventrale Secondo voi la preparazione su cartellino triangolare va bene? |

It is a member of the genus Temnthorax, with great probability of T. unifasciatus group. In Italy occur at least 4 species of the group. In this genus to proper identification is very important to see thorax in profile. They from two distinct big groups. First has thorax with distinct impression in the middle, the second has profile straight or regularly convex. |

Se prepari su cartellino triangolare devi incollare la punta del cartellino sul lato del torace e non sotto

Pronotum looks impressed in the middle thus it is not a member of unifasciatus group. The group with impressed pronotum is now in revision and probably several new species will be described in future. |
